Artist Bio

Neil Nicoll is an acrylic landscape painter based in Sherwood Park, Alberta. His work is inspired by time spent hiking and exploring the landscapes of Western Canada, with a focus on light, atmosphere, and a strong sense of place. Drawing from his own reference photographs, Nicoll’s paintings balance careful observation with subtle interpretation, allowing each piece to feel both familiar and reflective.

Through his work, Nicoll is drawn to moments of stillness within the landscape — quiet shifts in light, simplified forms, and spaces that invite pause. His paintings aim to offer viewers a calm, contemplative experience and a deeper connection to the natural environments that continue to shape his practice.
